STORE POLICY

Policies

Store Policy: At Montes Jewelry, we are always grateful for our customers for shopping with us. That is why we would like to implement policies to make our business and service better. Once the purchased items leave our store, we are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

 

Warranty/Guarantee: We can only guarantee that what you’re buying is what we say it is. For example, if we show you a chain and state it is 14k gold, then we guarantee it is 14k gold. We are also human and we make mistakes. If an item you bought is not what we claimed it to be e.g. you bought a 14k chain and we gave you a 10k chain, you can come in and we will make sure you get exactly what you paid for. While we do not give cash back outside the day of purchase, we can offer store credit (please refer to Exchange/Return Policy).

 

Exchange/Return Policy: Items purchased at Montes Jewelry may be returned within the same business day of purchase for money back (must be the same form of payment). After day of purchase, we do not offer cash back or refunds for our items. We can only offer an exchange (1 item for 1 item), store credit, or upgrade. Merchandise must be in original and unworn condition accompanied by the receipt given at the point of purchase. If an item was given as a gift, we only offer store credit.

 

Layaway Policy:  Our layaway plan is a way to help our customers finance the items that were put on hold with a deposit by paying them off over time. We offer a standard 3 month layaway plan with no interest added to the total amount agreed upon. If you wish to cancel your layaway, we will charge a fee for the time the item was stored. The balance remaining after subtracting the fee will be offered as store credit. If, for whatever reason, 3 months is not enough time to pay off your purchase, we can create a custom layaway plan for a longer time period that may or may not include interest. An item kept on hold with no money down is not considered a layaway, and we have the right to sell or return the item to our inventory after 3 days. Items may only be taken with you after the layaway is paid in full.

 

Damaged/Defective Items Policy:  We ensure that our jewelry at Montes Jewelry is in fact in new or great condition before selling it to our customers. When purchasing your item, it is important for us to make sure you are pleased with everything. Once the item leaves our store, we are not responsible for any damages to the jewelry. We cannot predict how our customers treat the jewelry, therefore we cannot be held responsible for any damages. If something seems to be damaged due to the item being defective, you are able to bring it into the store and we will repair the item for you at no cost (as long as we determine it was our fault). We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Note: when it comes to fine jewelry, it is important that you know it needs to be taken care of properly. We are not responsible for any abuse, normal wear and tear, or alteration of any item.

 

Custom Jewelry/Special Orders Policy:  When purchasing a custom piece, it is important to understand that this is a personalized item to the buyer. That being said, all custom pieces are non refundable. We ask that for any special orders placed, that you leave at least 50% of overall cost down for the deposit. Once your custom order is ready for pick up, your purchase must be paid in full. This also applies to all jewelry in our current inventory that is personalized to your specifications.

 

Sale Items: All Sale items are sold “as is”

 

Trade Up/Upgrading Policy: In order to trade up your jewelry, we ask that you have your receipt with you. When upgrading, please be aware: the only way this applies is if the new item you are getting is worth more than your previously purchased item. You cannot Trade Up a previously purchased item for one of less value.

PRIVACY & SAFETY

 We receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way. In addition, we collect the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; login; e-mail address; password; computer and connection information and purchase history. We may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page. We also collect personally identifiable information (including name, email, communications); payment details (including credit card information), comments, feedback, product reviews, recommendations, and personal profile.

When you conduct a transaction on our website, as part of the process, we collect personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address. Your personal information will be used for the specific reason of adding you to our customer list to keep track of purchases and information.

We collect such Non-personal and Personal Information for the following purposes:

  1. To provide and operate the Services;

  2. To provide our Users with ongoing customer assistance and technical support;

  3. To be able to contact our Visitors and Users with general or personalized service-related notices and promotional messages;

  4. To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred Non-personal Information, which we or our business partners may use to provide and improve our respective services; 

  5. To comply with any applicable laws and regulations.

Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.  

 

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.
